Scott and Don start by designing each piece on paper. Then they take it to the metal...
through the processes of cutting, shaping, texturing, and flame painting the metals, they create the scene they envisioned in thier minds.

At an early age, Chris Barela showed a strong attraction to the water. For family vacations the Barela family would travel the United States fishing most lakes and rivers. Chris would always be the first and last to be fishing. As Barela grew, his love for the water became a passion.
Chris started a surfing career, and with hard work and determination Chris took on the number one rating in the US Pro Surfing tour.

Tom and Nanc created Giusti's Enterprising Art in 1984. In the beginning Tom made Gyotaku (fish rubbings) and Nancy made large Raku pottery. Over the years the Raku Pottery dominated the business and now Tom and Nancy work as a team, with Nancy's ability to draw and Tom's technical ability to create new shapes for Nancy's wildlife creations, they have created some bright, stunning and refined images to be used on the usually rough and primitive Raku pottery. They find continuity in the control of the forms with Nancy's drawings and the spontaneity of the glazes reaction in the Raku fire.

"The willingness to explore the soul of my subject with artistic creativity, emotion, design, and color and then to be able to translate that language in a unique way to you, is for me, a continuously creative and exciting story that I can tell with my brush."

Dutch resides in the Coos Bay, Oregon area and works from both studio and location to create his extraordinary watercolors. Typically his paintings demand many hours of time at the easel as well as hours of research. Working boats of the Northwest Coast, especially older tugs and fishing vessels, are his preferred subjects and Dutch is especially gifted in his ability to capture the character hidden in their fine details. Admirers of his paintings often comment that they find themselves irresistibly drawn into his work.

Water is our life force. With my sculpture, I work to capture the beauty, grace and power of water in it's most dynamic form: THE WAVE.
